A New Graphic Tribute to St. John’s — Delivered Free This Holiday Season

This project builds on a long but often-overlooked legacy of comics in Newfoundland and Labrador, one that began in the basements of teenagers in the 1970s and continues today in crowded cafés, late-night drawing sessions, and community comic jams. 

Created and published by Black Panel Press, curated with care by writer and comics scholar Nancy Pedri, and designed by Paul Tucker, Town is both a tribute to St. John’s and a contribution to its living history. 

Whether you’re a lifelong townie or a curious visitor, these pages invite you to walk the streets, climb the hills, and see the city — maybe for the first time — through the eyes of its artists.
